Senior Adult Ministry

The Senior Adult Team exists to demonstrate care through creating and coordinating ministries, programs and opportunities for cooperation among our churches.

o Senior Adult Luncheons: Twice a year, on the first Thursday in April and the first Thursday in
November, our Senior Adults from across our association gather for a covered-dish lunch. Typically
there is a program in which a music group or a speaker provides inspiration.

o Senior Adult Backpack Project: For the past several years our Senior Adults from across Sarepta
have brought backpacks to the November meeting. Over the past four years over 1600 backpacks
have been collected. These backpacks are taken to Briceville, TN, as part of the Appalachian
Mountain Ministry of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. We have two teams who help carry out
that project. We have a delivery team that takes the backpacks to Briceville in late November. We
have a distribution team that helps distribute the backpacks along side local volunteers in mid-
December. The goal is to provide for the kids who would go home for the Christmas holidays
without food. For more information on the backpack ministry, go to https://gabaptist.org/backpacks/.
There you will find the packing list and instructions. Or, you can call our office for the details.
